This Saturday night we’re thrilled to host an eccentric jazz, funk and soul collaboration between some of the region’s best jazz talents, tentatively named Papa G’s Troves. Featuring Papa G and some of the region’s best jazz musicians performing on saxophone, trumpet, double bass, keys, drums and of course some soulful vocals. Expect some authentic jazz classics with a gospelly twinge. This gig will be completely free to enjoy and we’ll have the Jar on the Bar out for cash donations. Doors on the night open at 6pm with the live music from 8pm

Sat 26th: (Venue) Prohibition Cabaret Bar presents The Last Dance: a DJ led, 1920s/30s themed disco night celebrating, not just the final Saturday night of our bar’s lifetime, but also the music, dancing and general atmosphere of the Prohibition era we owe such a debt of style to. Taking place in our turn of the century themed upper venue, we invite our good friends, loyal customers and well wishers alike to come on down and have a night to remember. Spaces are limited so to reserve your place please send an email over to prohibitionbookings@gmail.com, or talk to me (Danny) or Mitch the next time you’re in the bar. This will be a “Pay on the Door” affair, with the entry price TBD. Doors open at 7pm.

Thu 31st:
Well here it is folks: our final night of trading. Your last chance to come on down, grab a drink and enjoy a bit of live music here at Prohibition Cabaret Bar. We’re inviting a specially curated selection of local musicians, the likes of whom have been gracing our stage for the full ten years of our lifetime, to bring their instruments and set the scene, Prohibition style, while we serve the booze… it’s all gotta go! Mitch, myself and all our staff would love to see you all down for a final hurrah. Please Note we appreciate this may be a busy night and, while we want to make things as big of a send of as possible, we do still have to stick to our capacity laws so if we fill up entirely and are having to turn people away please don’t be offended.

Thu 31st: (Venue) This Thursday in our Upper Venue we’re hosting a second night of shows as part of The Newcastle Fringe Festival (check the listing for Thu 24th). This evening we’ve got two theatrical productions: Snakes & Ladders an impactful one-act play from Burlison Entertainment and A Lion’s Heart a poignant drama from Sarah Jane Rees. For full information, links and ticket sales, check out the Fringe Festival website linked above (plus there’s info on the whole festival and the shows across the other 7 venues).
