Tue 1st – Bar: Ryan Hamilton & The Harlequin Ghosts: ‘Newcastle Charm’ Single Release. On August 28, the band release ‘Newcastle Charm’, the latest single from their highly anticipated new album: ‘Nowhere to Go But Everywhere’. An honorary Geordie, Texan singer/songwriter Ryan Hamilton regards Newcastle as his UK home away from home and looks forward to sharing a little regional slang and Newcastle Charm with the rest of the world. In celebration of this release Ryan is delighted to be performing a virtual live show with the toon’s very own Prohibition Cabaret Bar, a favourite of Ryan’s to play on the U.K. live circuit. Ryan will be live streaming from his home in Texas, where he has constructed his very own stage for the event. This will be screened LIVE at Prohibition on the night! We hope you’ll join us for this intimate performance. 8pm. See Facebook Event for details. FREE!

Tues 1st – Venue: They’re BACK! The Bartitsu & Antagonistics Forum present: ‘Introduction to Side Sword’. They’ve been training for months throughout lockdown and they’ve got some serious moves to show us! No previous experience required. Two month course. Every Tuesday throughout September and October 7-9pm. £6 per class.

Wed 2nd: Weekly Pub Quiz – NOW LIVE ONLINE TOO! Join us for 4 rounds of quizzical quandary featuring General Knowledge, Music, Film & TV and Wild Card round! Teams of up to 4 per table from a maximum of 2 different households/bubbles. Quiz starts 8.30pm. £FREE entry, donations welcome.

Fri 4th: Live blues back where it belongs with Michael Littlefield’s‘Blind Pig Blues Club’, featuring local legends The King Bees in a bespoke trio set up, just for our tiddly covid-safe stage! Sets from 9pm. FREE / Jar on the Bar

Sun 6th: Join us for our very own, brand new Classic Cinema Club;‘Silver Screen Sundays’ showcasing 30’s and 40’s movie greats. This week’s offering, Alfred Hitchcock’s 1940 classic suspense ‘Rebecca’ starring Laurence Olivier and Joan Fontaine, starts 3pm in our spacious first floor venue where our tables have all been carefully laid out for a good, socially distanced view of the screen. Tables seat either 2 or 4 guests and must be from a maximum of 2 different households/bubbles as per the government guidelines. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks and our bar will be open with our full menu for pre/post-picture drinks and chats! Fri 16th: LIVE Burlesque! The House of Trixie Blue & Prohibition Cabaret Bar proudly present Burlesque Revue featuring performances from very special guests TBA! Doors open 7pm. Showtime 8pm. Tickets are extremely limited and while we work around Covid-19 restrictions tickets will be sold as ‘tables’ and will go live online at 10.30am the following morning of the previous month’s show. Sat 17th: The Prohibition Act presents… Live comedy and vintage vocals from local performer and entertainer ‘Our Delores’. Hold on to your hats and keep an eye on your gin… she’s back! Our Delores first burst onto our Prohibition stage back in our original premises over the murky waters of the Tyne, in Gateshead. She wandered in off the cobbles of Brandling Street one winter’s evening and after whetting her whistle she let rip with that incredible voice of hers! Sat 31st: Man Alive! Prohibition is FIVE! Join Mitch and the gang for a double whammy, dual-floor, 5th birthday party extravaganza! (Covid-restrictions pending, of course!) Can you Adam and Eve it’s been five years of Prohibition mayhem?! Well, we’ve been through it all together and we can’t wait to see where the next five years takes us! Featuring our usual heady mix of LIVE music (likely), magic (maybe), Burlesque (probably!) and flowing drinks (definitely!) this will be a ticketed event, likely sold by tables, ALL TO BE CONFIRMED – but watch this space for more details as and when we get things confirmed! One thing’s for sure, we’re gonna party like it’s 1929!
