Sat 7th: Venue – Club 30-80’s As usual the Club 30-80’s DJ’s will be spinning tunes aplenty, spanning ages and genres all evening, and with most of the songs picked by you, you really do get to “dance to the music YOU want to hear”! Send your requests to the Facebook group or email them at club30to80@gmail.com if you’re shy! Club 30-80 is primarily aimed at people over 30s who don’t go clubbing but still like to dance. Now in its 5th year the regions original non-judgemental interactive disco returns to its Prohibition home for 2020. Tickets £6+bf. Doors open 7pm-12am. 

 

Sun 8th: LIVE matinee performance from the very talented Tenement Jazz Band from over the old Hadrian border as part of their Winter Tour. However their new project, the Milne Glendinning Band (MGT),  is something special. Inspired by the breadth of the 20th century jazz canon, as well as by great popular song writers, this is original contemporary music with smart lyrics & jazz-infused melodic grooves. Sets from 8pm. Fri 20th: Venue – CANCELLED! – The Blind Pig Blues Club Presents: Peter Case & Sid Griffin LIVE! A very special show brings two of the finest roots and Americana performers back to Newcastle! Peter Case is on tour promoting his new blues album and brings with him his friend and musical partner Sid Griffin. This show is bound to sell out, so keep a very close eye on the BPBC Facebook page for details of the tickets going on sale!
Peter Case is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. His career is wide-ranging, from rock n’ roll and blues, to folk rock and solo acoustic performance. Sid Griffin is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist-mandolinist, bandleader. He led the Long Ryders band in the 1980s, founded the Coal Porters group in the 1990s, has recorded several solo albums and is the author of volumes of material on Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons and bluegrass music. Tickets £15. Doors 8.30pm.

Sun 22nd: Venue – Ali Affleck & Friends. Award winning Ali Affleck is joined by two renowned musicians from London – multi-instrumentalist, Ewan Bleach and pianist Joplin Parnell. Specialising in 1920’s /1930’s jazz and blues and you can expect to hear some very rare old tunes (and some more familiar) performed with prowess by three of the UK’s flagship performers. This it is a very rare opportunity to catch them in Newcastle.

Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art School is the world’s premier alternative drawing movement. Artists draw glamorous underground performers in an atmosphere of boozy conviviality.
