THE PROHIBITION CABARET BAR
‘END OF AN ERA’ AUCTION

As we come to a final close we will host an online and on site auction to sell off all our decorative items, lamps, pictures, curtains, CD’s, books, fixtures, fittings, tech, sound equipment, bar bits, glassware, furniture, chandeliers and of course, the now famous ‘Sam Fender’ house piano. Even the bespoke bar counter and mirrored back bar will be up for grabs! If you want a momento, a little piece of Prohibition Cabaret Bar in your home, office, mancave, craft room, kitchen, bar, workshop, business or know someone who would love something to remember all the good times by, then this is your chance and this is how you do it!

The Plan…

Photographs of all the lots available will be added to this page and to our bar Facebook page on Monday 21st July at 6pm with physical viewings available during opening hours throughout that week, from opening at 6pm on Wednesday 23rd July up to closing at midnight on the Saturday 26th July. You can leave your bid(s) with us at the bar and we will place it for you ready for the day of the auction. For those unable to visit the premises or attend the auction we will also accept absentee bids by email only (to ensure fairness and keep things simple). Bids must meet or exceed the estimate given or they cannot be accepted. All bids are final and must only be placed if genuine and you are prepared and able to pay the amount bid should you win. All absentee and commission bids taken during the week will be pulled together on Sunday 27th July therefore no more bids will be taken after midnight on Saturday 26th. Please bare in mind that we are still open and running the bar so the items need to remain on the premises until our last night is over.

The auction itself will take place at the premises in the main ground floor bar on Monday 28th July at 7pm. Those wishing to attend and bid in person must arrive in good time as our capacity is only 50 persons and early indications suggest we may be busy! We will also stream the auction live on our Facebook page but given delays and connection speeds we CANNOT accept bids via this format and won’t be able to consistently man the comments throughout the sale, this will simply be streamed for those wanting to see what the lots fetch (and if their bid wins!)

All winning commission and absentee bids will be contacted by email (the same email address used to make the bid) following the sale and payment for your lot(s) must be made by PayPal within 48 hours. Alternatively winning bids can be paid in person by cash or card at the bar from 6pm until 11pm on Wednesday 30th July.

Our final night is Thursday 31st July. Items must then be collected over the following two days, Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd August. We are required to vacate the premises on Sunday 3rd August so if your item has not been collected we are unable to leave it on the premises for you to collect another time, the new tenant moves in on Monday 4th August. We cannot hold or store anything anywhere, so please, only bid what you are happy to afford and only if you are able to pay and collect within the given times. We apologise for all the very specific tight windows, we wanted to reach as many as possible and raise as much as we can in the process to help us settle our final bills.

While it’ll be sad seeing everything leaving the premises I will be comforted to know it’s all going to lovely new homes and will be still be loved! I know you’ll all enjoy and look after everything, whatever it is you bid on. I wanted you all to get something to remember us by and I know you all wanted to help make the end easier for me in some way, so this was the best way I could think of! ~ Mitch

Thank you!
